e-coli terrorism
I have no way to measure the likelihood or actuarial risk of this particular experience. So I speak with a great amount of reluctance. The outbreak of e-coli in Germany from a strain which is an unexpected biological mutant recombitant from two known strains is the kind of 'marker' I would expect from a terrorist foray looking for weak spots in our defenses. And there's strong evidence that the food systems of the world are weak spots. No one is running our produce through a detection system to check its safety.
Probably not the case that this outbreak was a terrorist act. But more importantly, what is the likelihood that there will be such an act? Highly probable I'd say.
Sadly.
