Fashionable trombone?

I opened the newspaper a week or so ago and paused at the full page Macy's ad spread.  Something seemed odd to me.  Now I'm not a horn player of any sort.  But it seemed to me that the guy playing the trombone in the picture had never held one before.  "It's upside down," I said to myself.   Maybe there are people who play the instrument in that position but I sure didn't see pictures of any.   I guess it's not a big deal.  It's a fashion ad for godsake!   But at the same time I thought it was sad that no one- player, ad director, photographer, other participants- piped up and urged that the thing be done right. Just because.
