I love a mystery....especially in the night sky (Thanks, Dad!)

Astronomers have observed a 'bright blip' they can't explain. I'll give my #2 Silver Surfer original to the person who can clearly ID that flash.

I think the comments on the linked article contained all kinds of foolish guesses, but one person did get it right:

The uninhabitable planet removal program continues. The search is over.....Let there be light!

Or maybe I'm just nostalgic for silly sci-fi movies.
