Wired-RFID spying is close to reality

The article below in WIRED makes clear that RFID tracking technology is already available to spy on each and every individual in ways that seemed science fiction not long ago. There's a long step between "capable" and "deployed" including a commitment of vast amounts of cash. But I'm more concerned that human behavior suggests that if the technology is there, someone will be deploying it but they may not tell us and we may not know. That scares me.
